Aptivate Educational and Psychological Solutions, LLC is a full-service company offering a one-stop shop for clinical private practice and educational services. The COVID-19 global pandemic shed light on (and in many cases, exacerbated) the need for mental health services in the United States, especially with youth. In addition, the pandemic exposed the shortcomings of most U.S. school systems, and many children and adolescents nationwide experienced a loss of and reduced quality in instruction as their education shifted to virtual platforms. Moreover, as more youth are recognized and diagnosed as neurodivergent (thinking, learning, cognitively developing differently), there is increased demand for services like social skills and executive functioning skills training as well as speech-language evaluation and therapy. For youth right here in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Aptivate is here to help!

Psychological Services

We offer psychological services that can be quite beneficial to our youth, including:

  • Comprehensive Psychological and Psychoeducational Evaluations that reveal strengths, weaknesses, interests, thought patterns, behaviors, mood and attitude, and much more
  • Psychotherapy using evidence-based practices to help youth experiencing conditions that hinder their growth, development, self-esteem, confidence, interpersonal relationships, adaptability, and other important areas of life
  • Admissions Testing for youth seeking admission to private or independent schools or specialized academic programs
  • Social Skills Training in a structured program for youth with interpersonal skill deficits, especially those with Autism, ADHD, or other conditions
  • Psychological Consultation for current and prospective clients, professional colleagues, and school systems to offer expertise that supports youth and relevant stakeholders

Educational Services

The current educational landscape continues to encourage more individualized instruction for students who need additional academic support, students still recuperating from the woes of education during the pandemic, and students who want an edge when it comes to their academic performance, class ranking, and/or college and university admissions.

We offer educational services to address academic and aspirational needs, including:

  • Educational Consultation to address children’s needs in school, at home, or in both settings
  • Tutoring in various subjects
  • Academic Skills Training in executive functioning skills as well as study and test-taking skills
  • College and Career Counseling to help teens prepare for and navigate through the college admissions process and provide guidance for their future career goals

Speech Services

We also offer speech services to address children’s speech and language needs, including:

  • Speech-Language Evaluations to determine if children have any speech or language deficits or disorders (e.g., in expressive, receptive, or pragmatic language)
  • Speech-Language Therapy to address children’s and adolescents’ speech and language needs as well as track their progress towards speech and language goals
